On the positive side, the movies were still as crsip and beautiful as ever and the battle system wasn't that bad.
I don't say the game is crap itself, but considering that it was a sequel to one of the greatest games ever made, we (the fans) expected more than just dressing up girls and hunting some weird video recording orbs or spheres or whatever they are called.

I mean Squenix isn't some amazing God of Gaming that can keep churning out awesome that EVERYONE can love. Like FF12. Some people liked it but a lot of people thought it sucked because of the combat.
...But I agree with you, I didn't like it because of the character set up. Dressing up was pretty fun x3 and a little fan service/eye-candy never hurt the masses. I mean, even I thought the girls were cute and fun to look at
