I think just about everyone seems to watched DBZ at one point or the other, but the two things that made me interested in anime were the Miyazaki films and the 13 episode anime King of Bandit Jing. Miyazaki's movies are great, and I dare you to find a more creative, for lack of a better word, anime than King of Bandit Jing.
