Wolf's Rain
Well, I recently finished rewatching Wolf's Rain and I'm still chewing on the ending. I have my own thoughts on it, but I'd like to hear what everyone else has to say It's fun to share your opinion (as long as we play nicely for the better part). Let me know what you thought of the ending to Wolf's Rain and don't just answer with "I liked/didn't like it." I want to know why too. ^^

I love the series Wolf's Rain b/c i love wolves -^^- but the ending kinda bummed me out b/c they kinda just left it out in the open. I don't know if its ok or not to say spoilers in here so i don't really want to say anything and have ppl get mad at me x] but lets just say that Kiba found "his" paradise which was where he was able to be with his friends. If you want to know more just PM me and we can talk =)
(Going to bed now, I'll check this tomorrow ^^)

lol wolfman xD. Well i would say that it is kinda old but not too old. I still think it's a great series! I just wish the ending was a little better. But then again it makes you wonder and you kinda have to like put the pieces together. It's sorta like what you think would happen next or something like that ^^;; i don't know if that makes sense...>.>

It's about several stray wolves who join together to form a pack in their search for Paradise. Supposedly, Paradise can only be found when the world comes to an end and it is only accessible to wolves alone (humans no go). The wolves are easily mistaken as either being half human or as werewolves, but they're actually just wolves that are able to project an illusion of being human in order to fool people. Wolf's Rain is a bit old, but that doesn't mean it's quality and plot isn't good.  In fact, it's excellent. Just be prepared with a box of tissues (in case you have a tendency to cry at sad moments like me) if you ever watch the anime. I had crying fest near the ending...^^;

Well, I just finished the series as of about a minute ago.
I literally sat there staring at the screen for most of that minute.....
The only thing one can say at the end of that amine is: WHAT?
it just...doesnt....SPOILER COMING, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED:
So paradise is corrupted and ruined now, which might actually be ok since supposedly the new world at the end is paradise.....which in my opinion is wrong since it is the modern day world, and this world is not a paradise. Not in my definition, and especially not in a wolf's defenition. Wolf's are all about freedom and running and such, yet here one is chained to a 9 to 5 job and a typical family...grrr....
So I didn't like the ending at all. Nada.Zip.Zilch.No. Nine.
And yes i know the first ones mean none or 0, and no and nine obviosuly mean no. I know that.
And the box of tissues is fairly unnessesary.....but i dont cry often anyway...so if you know you're a crier, sure, grab some tissues. The only part i found near sad was when cher died, just because it was so...pointless...fragile...so..spontaneous, i guess. A good example of how weak the force we call life is.

..>.> i guess ur right... The ending did disappoint me. but overall in my opinion, it was a excellent anime! ^.^ *Spoilers!!!! be warned!!!*
When Toboe died i was so sad T.T and when Tsume expressed his feelings <3 so cute but ya...>.>...lol
I agree with you about the paradise thing. I think that Kiba, in his heart, believed that being with his friends was his real paradise, even if they were in the modern world. Just to be with them is special. but what i don't get is that did they know of each other at the end? I mean...did they know that they were all once friends? hmm...questions that could probably never be answered..=/

*SPOILERS*
It's true that the ending to Wolf's Rain wasn't the ideal ending, but think of it this way: would the series have as nearly a lasting impression had the wolves reached Paradise?
I think Wolf's Rain was more about the journey than the destination.
Also, my interpretation of the ending was slightly different from yours. I had the impression that the place the wolves had reached at the end, the modern world, wasn't Paradise. Remember that scene with all the beautiful flowers and rolling grass fields (and Darcia's eye)? I believed that was Paradise. But it didn't last because Darcia's evil eye contaminated it (the part where you see the eye dissolve and is absorbed by one of the flowers). Thanks to the darn eye, we have the modern world which, like you said, is no Paradise. That world will eventually disentegrate and fall to ruins (like the world we had seen during the beginning of the series) and the wolves will be fated to re-travel their journey for Paradise. However, I don't think it's an eternal cycle. When I look at Kiba during his last moments before he is reborn, the scene is very similar to the one at the beginning of the series, except with slight differences. First of all, the monologue is different. Second, he's now laying in a pool of water amongst the Lunar Flowers rather than somewhere in the snow. That induces me to believe that Kiba had repeated his search for Paradise many times and that scene where he was in the snow was the end of a previous journey. But later, when we see him in the water, he's dying but he's in a different location. Perhaps the differences and similarities between these two scenes are trying to show that though Kiba still didn't succeed, he managed to get one step closer to Paradise. And eventually, he and the other wolves will finally reach their destination.
Sorry about the wall of text. D: And tell me if I didn't make sense somewhere. I'll come back and correct it. ^^ I've only just finished the series about a week ago so I'm still in the process of chewing through the ending and what it all means. xD But I do agree with you that it was kinda disappointing.
Err, one last thing: RikusDarkAngel, I meant to get back to you earlier but my computer crashed on me while I was trying to send you a message. D: (All that hard work for naught! Stupid technology and its glitches.) I was planning on re-sending my message but since this whole place is covered with spoilers, I guess that might not be necessary. xD
