Default Anime recommendation

I've completely and utterly run out of things to watch and I don't particularly feel like rewtaching anything at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any genre is fine with me as long it's got a good storyline. ^^

That all depends. What kind of anime are you used to? What genres do you like the most? Anime is a pretty big spectrum, after all.

Do you like Sci-Fi? Action? Comedy? Romance?

Yaoi?!?!

....forget I said that last one. You're better off not knowing....

Cromartie. Know about it.

Also, and this is a guilty pleasure cause I love jets, but Area 88 is fucking gangsta.

Fighting Spirit. A boxing anime. But even if you don't like boxing you should see this. It's pure quality all around.

Kimagure Orange Road. The best romantic comedies were made in the 80s before stereotypes set in. This one was one of the best. With 48 TV episodes 8 OVA episodes and a movie. All leading up to one of most enjoyably bitter-sweet endings in all of anime.

(KOR movie: I Want To Return To That Day is one of the best anime films ever made. Fantastic even for those who haven't seen the show.)

The Original Lupin The Third TV Series. Which followed closer to the original manga than it's successors. Unfortunately it's not available on the U.S. market, but you can buy the chinese set off eBay or watch most of the episodes online at CrunchyRoll.com

And if you have the cash for it I highly recommend Urusei Yatsura. There's over 50 DVDs released from AnimEGO. Expensive as hell, but the show is a riot. Urusei Yatsura Movie 2: Beautiful Dreamer is not to be missed. (IN JAPANESE ONLY! THE DUB STINKS! DO NOT WATCH IT ON THE FUNIMATION NETWORK! YOU'LL TAINT THE EXPERIENCE! THE SAME GOES FOR PROJECT A-KO!!!)

Here's a few from my lists....

1. Mutant Vampire Karin - Comedy/Horror*****(5-Stars)

It's about a vampire girl, Karin, who isn't really a vampire, or not quite like one. She can go out in the sun, immune to all weaknesses, goes to school, hangs out with her friend Maki, you know, normal stuff. Until a new transfer student, Kenta, come in and changes her life forever. For Karin has an unspeakable secret that she and her family has kept secret for years... She's a Blood Maker! The series gets better as it goes along in the relationship between Karin and Kenta.

2. Death Note - Horror ****(4-stars)

I haven't finished the series yet as not all the episodes are out yet...

Yagumi Light-- He's a straight A student at his school, gets along with everyone well, enjoying the good life. Untill he comes across... the Death Note, a notebook with the power over life and death, well, death mostly. Ryuk, the Shimigami (Death God), accoplies Light as he strives for the perfect world, a world without evil, but following his trail of death, it the legendary detective only known as L.

3. Naruto (No need to explain, right?)

4. Hellsing - Action/Horror ****1/2 (4-1/2 Stars)

This series takes place in England, where this secret organization, the Helsing Organization, are the only stand between the public and the Ghouls, Vampires and Freaks that go rampant throughout the country.
The Helsing Organization's Vampire, Alucard, along with recent member to the Organization and newly turned Vampire, Seras Victoria, they set out on the orders of Sir Integra Helsing to put an end to the chaos that ravags the city. There's a OVA of Hellsing also out. Diffrent from the above, the movie is mainly based off the manga.

That's it for now...

Glad I could help

I'm a big fan of Fullmetal Alchemist (and was before it got entirely overpopular in the states).

I also find that I like some of the movies that came out recently. Spirited Away, Metropolis, Howl's Moving Castle; I liked all of these. If you're looking for something a littl older in the way of movies, try Grave of the Fireflies (though it is quite sad; you've been warned).

Series-wise, I enjoyed watching through Haibane Renmei recently. I don't have my anime case with me, otherwise I'd have more to suggest.

That was a great suggestion, but unfortunately I already watched it. ^^; I agree with you though; it's an excellent anime, and it was pretty darn scary at some points (Urado's face will forever be imprinted in my memory whether I like it or not T^T). The only thing that disappointed me was the ending that wasn't quite an ending at all. It felt so forced.
