Hayate no gotoku (gust of wind) aka hayate the combat butler


plot:

An unfortunate high school student, Ayasaka Hayate spends his days working at part-time jobs to support his extravagant parents. After incurring a debt of 150 million yen, they disappear, and Hayate was left holding the bag. Whilst running away from the debt collectors, he tries to kidnap a girl for ransom. However, the girl misunderstands his intentions and thinks he is confessing his love to her. Almost immediately, he botches the kidnap attempt but then manages to save her from other kidnappers, causing her to fall in love with him. The girl, Sanzenin Nagi, is actually the daughter of a millionaire family. In recognition of his services, she hires Hayate as a resident butler and even pays off the debt collectors.
This is how Hayate becomes a combat butler. In order to serve and protect his mistress, Hayate’s life-or-death butler life begins.

Seto no Hanayome(seto's bride)

plot:

Seto no Hanayome's story revolves around a young teenage boy named Nagasumi Michishio. One day during his summer vacation, Nagasumi was drowning in the Seto Inland Sea. Luckily, he got rescued at the last minute by a mermaid named San Seto. Having been saved by a mermaid and bearing witness to her true form, under mermaid law both the mermaid who was involved and the human who saw the mermaid are to be executed. In an attempt to save both Nagasumi and San's lives, it is decided by San's family that the two are to be married.

The truth behind San's family starts with San's dad named Gōzaburō who is a big mob boss under the sea. Gōzaburō is enraged about his daughter running off and marrying some a human he deems inferior. Between Gōzaburō's attempts on his life and the madcap antics of a whole slew of antagonists — including the daughter of the rival mobster and a rich male transfer student with an attraction for San — Nagasumi is not enjoying a very smooth transition into his new lifestyle.

Sola(sky)

plot:

Morimiya Yorito is a normal 15-yearold high school student with a unique interest. He enjoys the ‘sky’, whether it be just gazing up at it, or taking pictures of it. He lives alone now as his only family, his elder sister, is ill and is laid up in the hospital.

One day, he decides to take a picture of the dawn over the sea. While setting up his equipment, he meets a young girl, but she leaves before he is able to ask her name.

This is but the first of his encounters with her. The next night, Yorito once again meets this girl, who introduces herself as Shihou Matsuri, and discovers that she shared an interest in the sky.

The third time they meet, he discovers that someone intends on harming her, and that she may not be human…

Nagasarete Airantou (Casted Away... Airan Island?)


plot:

revolves around Ikuto Tōhōin, the main protagonist, who ran away from home because of a fight with his father. Due to a life-long dream of wanting to board a ship, Ikuto decides to take a vacation until the ship is suddenly hit by a huge storm throwing Ikuto overboard. He wakes up the next day to discover he is on an uncharted island populated by girls. Ikuto finds himself to be extremely popular on the island due to the fact that no other men are currently on the island. In effect, nearly the entire island starts going after Ikuto to become his bride, all except a young girl named Suzu and her extremely old grandmother. Suzu's grandmother decides that Ikuto will live with Suzu for the time being, but Ikuto initially finds it difficult to adjust, especially with the entire island population after him night and day. Meanwhile, Suzu does her best to protect Ikuto from the masses. However, Ikuto still does not want to stay on the island any longer, and soon after arriving, he attempts to leave by boat, but discovers the island is completely surrounded by whirlpools and thus it is impossible to leave. With no other choice, Ikuto starts to settle into life on the island.

Kaibutsu Oujo(Monster Princess))


plot:

Hiro Hiyorimi is a boy who has just moved to the city to meet his sister. Suddenly he is hit by a car. On the verge of death he is seen by a young woman clad in gothic clothes. She then resurrects him, leaving him alive in the hospital morgue. He wakes up confused over what happened, only to encounter the woman again as she eliminates some wolf creatures. She addresses Hiro as "her servant" and introduces herself as "Hime" (Japanese for Princess). The story then follows Hiro as he assists Hime in killing creatures that have been sent by her siblings to attack her.

Claymore


It is the world where the man-eating demon hangs out. To fight against the demon, the human beings create female soldiers that are half demons and half human. They have silver eyes and large swords. They are named Claymore after their swords.
When Claire was a child, she met Theresa, the strongest Claymore. To save Claire, Theresa broke their iron rule to kill a human. Because of breaking the rules, she was wanted by punitive group. Pricilla, a member of the punitive group, couldn't control the power of the magical sword, and turned into an "Awakened". Then, Theresa was beaten by the large power of Pricilla. To avenge Theresa, Claire decided to inherit Theresa’s flesh to become Claymore.

Kaze no stigma(Stigma of the wind)

His defeat, along with his lack of talent for En-Jutsu, the fire arts, the Kannagis' specialty, resulted in his banishment from the family. Now, Kazuma returns as Kazuma Yagami, a skilled master of Fū-Jutsu, the wind arts. At the same time, a number of murders at the Kannagi residence perpetrated by a powerful Fū-Jutsushi cast suspicion on him.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-lagann(Break-Through Heaven Gurren Lagann)


plot:


In the distant future, people build their homes and raise domestic animals in subterranean caverns. As a result, they live in fear of the occasional earthquake and cave-in, and have been for hundreds of years. Jeeha is one such village.

One day, a boy named Simon happens to find a small, shiny drill whilst digging to expand the village. At the same time, Kamina, a guy who believes that there is another land above the village, persuades a gangster to break through the ceiling in order to leave the cavern. Suddenly, an earthquake occurs and the ceiling collapses, followed by a big robot breaking through the ceiling.

Kamina is now sure that there is a world above them. Recklessly, he begins to fight against the robot. At that moment, another person appears from the land above. It is a girl by the name of Yoko. With a rifle in hand, she had been tracking the robot. However, all she could do was distract it. Then, Simon shows what he had found to Kamina and Yoko. It's a mysterious robot whose head is also its body.

New anime holds little appeal for me. There's just nothing unique.

Though I do enjoy Basilisk, Eureka Seven, Jyu Oh Sei and Angel Heart.

I miss the old days of anime. Where almost everything was enjoyable on some level. Most of which won't ever make it to the U.S. because anime have to be "trendy" or "new" otherwise distributors won't touch them. DAMN AMERICAN MENTALITIES!!!

I don't know of ANY anime that new, but I can say some fairly recent ones. Gantz, elfen lied, the guyver remake, and hellsing ultimate.

I agree that Kaze no Stigma is good... Kazuma is awesome even though Ayano is incredibly annoying -and stupid.

meh, i think that was the novelty thing.

but still, =D
there are some animes that arent enjoyable

i am also looking for something new to watch prefuably mecha (gaint robots)
