anyways, nodame cantabile is really hilarious and good. the art is not as good but the plot is awesome. others are naruto, bleach, d.gray-man, meru puri, host club, la corda, penguin revolution, air gear, yakitake japan, xxxholic, tsubasa chronicles, and others

My favorites are Death Note, Megatokyo, Beet the Vandel Buster, Rurouni Kenshin, and Love Hina. Dramacon is also quite good, and so is Buso Renkin. Chobits is great. Hikaru no Go is great. Vampire Knight is great...there are lots of great manga out there for you to read.

If you want to branch out into some of the non Japanese stuff, get any of the Sandman books. I wish i had discovered them years earlier, because they're incredible. I think they'd appeal to any manga fan.

you should read Vampire knight, Fruit Basket and Hana kimi....there is so much good manga i can't even list them all xD

the only mangas i've read are Trigun Maximum and Hellsing, both are great. Trigun is a Sci-fi western and Hellsing is about vampires.

If you like shoujo, I can suggest a few that I find that is quite good..

For English Scanlations,

Completed - Hana Kimi, Kare Kano, Princess (its quite dramatic and ending is so not my type but worth a try), Absolute Boyfriend, Marmalade Boy, Fruits Basket, Love Monster, Kare First Love, Good Morning Call (dislike the ending but there is a serial for this), Hana Yori Dango, H3 School ,and Moe Kara (both for a quickie) etc. I can't remember everything

Ongoing - Anatolia Story, Love Celeb, Vampire Knight, 100% Perfect Girl, Goong, Kaikan Phrase, Haou Airen, desire climax, gakuen alice, glass mask (I kinda like this, though I don't recommend this to everyone), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Perfect Girl Evolution, Special A (I love this esp, artwork kinda good and damn funny) , La Corda d'Oro (not sure about the story but the guys really are good looking), Shugo Chara (I am quite addicted to it although at first glance is childish), Skip Beat (one of MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE by far), Parfait Tic, and Ouran (My favourite too!!)

It depends what genre of reading you like. But I can give you a list of my manga and why I bought them.

Chobits - humor and Sci-Fi. No fighting but, it's about persocoms (human looking robot) and people falling in love
Love Hina - humor. Nice plot of guy who owns a girl's dorm while trying to get into Tokyo U
Chrono Crusade - Fighting. This one has a great plot about demons and gun slinging nuns.
He is my Master - humor. (saying the title always makes it sound bad, though it isn't). Very Entertaining has very spontaneous plot (maybe that's why there is only five books in the series). Plot is a young rich boy who hires the young girls as his maids.
