Sorry I did not know the exact name of the swords samuria use. But you do make an interesting point about being able to actually buy the weapons for real life combat. Of course any real weapons based on games or are like the ones in games would probubly take years before they would become availuble to the general public. Simply because the military would want to keep anything that high tech classified. Until a time as such as when the technoligy would be declassified. But that could take years. But then again it depends on what you would conisder to be high tech. Definitly the alien and prototype weapons from Half Life 1 and 2 would be considered high tech.

I didn't mention any of their exact names. Katana is japanese for "knife" or "blade", if I remember correctly. There are lots of samurai sword variations. Each has a name - tachi, tanto, etc...
And - no offence. Maybe, I just got you wrong.

How about good old BFG 9000 from Doom? they made quite a good job with it in doom 3.
