It would be to understand if you didn't abreviate the thread title.
Anyway, Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II are great games. The second is possibly the best RPG I've seen on the PC (if you count FF VII out). Unfortunately, I never found the expansion for it, Throne of Bhaal, for sale on my country.
My favourite class would be the Paladin. Great fighter-type character with the abillity to cast some priest spells and the abillity "Turn Undead" which allows him/her to make all the undeads in the area run in fear or, if the Paladin's level is high enough, kill them permanently (you'll still have to put a stake into the heart of some of the vampires that are killed this way (or any other).
The best class kit to fight vampires is the Undead Hunter (I'm still talking about Paladins) as it is imune to most status effects caused by the undead (level drain, for example) and it has bonuses fighting them phisicaly and using the Turn Undead ability.
If you're fighting vampires without an Undead Hunter, avoid melee combat to prevent level drain and have a cleric ready to cast some sort of a restoration spell (Lesser Restoration, Restoration Scroll, etc) on anyone who does get level drained. If you're figting more than one vampire at a time, try to get rid of them using fireballs.
