I don't think so. In BG II, you just pause the game and think the actions of each one of your characters carefuly and you can take all the time you need. It doesn't get confusing at all, it just requires more understanding of each of your characters abillities. It also allows you a lot more actions as I said before, In NWN, if you don't have someone who's good at disarming traps with you, you can get pretty screwed and that limits the abilities and/or henchmen you can choose.
