Blank is just cool looking. Beatrix kicked a** but I found her kinda empty. Still I would have liked both better than some of the main characters

Blank by far...he was totally awesome and kicked major ass Beatrix was pretty kool too but i still like blank a lot more

As for my favourite side characters in the game, Blank and Beatrix. The only characters (short of Vivi) I still think are somewhat cool.
