There never really have been official OST's for the vast majority of Nintendo's software. Back in the mid-to-late '90s, they dabbled a little with in-house releases of OST's for such games as the DKC series, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Yoshi's Story, both N64 Zelda titles, Perfect Dark, Paper Mario, and a couple others, but it still amounts to a drop in the bucket.

Also, as a lot of the posters seem to be pointing out, there are quite a few - like Smash Bros. Melee - released solely in Japan. Most of Sega's Sonic OST's are Japan-exclusive (only a rare few weren't).

I have a few of the CD's ~ various rearrangement CD's of Zelda music from the Nintendo 64. Beautifully rearranged to symphonies or orchestral. I would hope that someday, they do a bit more of this though. They also have talented game music composers and the guys over at Square Enix, Konami, Namco shouldn't be the only ones releasing soundtracks! ^^

I was pretty disappointed when nintendo released its super mario galaxy soundtrack as an exclusive to some nintendo club members in japan only.
