Default Has Nintendo given up on releasing OSTs?

I noticed that there weren't soundtrack releases for many of Nintendo's titles:
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
  • Star Fox Assault (full)
  • Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
  • Zelda: Four Swords Adventure
  • Paper Mario 2
  • Zelda: Twilight Princess (WTF!)

Add all the Mario games that came out for the Gamecube (Sunshine, sports, DDR), and you've got plenty of missed opportunities. Sure, they tend to release mini albums with a couple of songs. There was also MOTHER 3+ released as an arrange album back in 2006. But what about full soundtrack albums? Do they just think that official soundtracks aren't worth it for these titles?

What the hell's going on?

Actually a Super Smash Brothers Melee OST was released. I got it with one of my Issues of the Nintendo Power magazine. Sadly, it got scratched beyond belief from a friend and I couldn't copy the songs over to my computer afterwards

Are you talking about this: http://gmronline.com/info.asp?CatNumber=none0058?

That was just a promo. I wouldn't call it an official soundtrack. The songs aren't even separated. Besides, there are still plenty of other games that have no soundtrack release. I find it strange.

Well, as everyone knows, there really isn't much of a market for OSTs outside of Japan. They probably, to a degree, still release OSTs there, and remember the Twilight Princess soundtrack from Nintendo Power?
Why are you complaining when you can get all the game soundtracks from this website? Most of the games you can think of are accounted for.

That would explain why you can't find them in North American CD stores. But they're not even releasing them in Japan. If they were, Chudah's Corner and Game Music Revolution would probably have album info on them, considering what a big name Nintendo is.

All they release is tiny little albums with four or five tracks from a game as some promotional album. Full soundtracks means ALL the songs from a game. Check this out: http://www.chudahs-corner.com/soundt...talog=none_041
That CD contains music from Mario Tennis GC and Mario Golf. Were there only 12 songs from Mario Tennis GC? 'Cause the rip contains 87 songs. But that CD is the closest thing you'll get to an official soundtrack.

Ha! Twilight Princess has over 100 songs in it. That promo CD has 5 or 6.

Game RIPS, not game SOUNDTRACKS. They may be missing track names, track numbers, and composer info. Then you have rips that include speech burbles and sound effects.

And I'll complain if I want. Who's gonna stop me?

Well, the songs are separated (at least in the North American version), but they're live, which isn't for everyone. I tend to prefer studio versions much more than live ones (though there are of course some exceptions).

I mean separated by track. The songs are medleys, so they're bunched up together in one track. For example track 12 - Smash Brothers Grand Medley contains most of the stage themes in 14 minutes. Unless you also mean that they're separated by track?
