i started to cry when Tidus left Yuna in FF X... That was beating me.

FFX was the first video game I owned (wasn't allowed to play them for a long time becasue my mom was convinced they were going to make me stupid and insane)

Aeris's death in FFVII, hands down. Most tear-jerking scene known to mankind. I MISS U AERIS ! POOR, POOR CLOUD !

Final Fantasy VI. The final confrontation where the group of heroes / companions makes a plea as to why humanity should continue to exist vs. the whims of an insane demi-god. ^^

Xenogears. Numerous moments throughout the entirety of the game, but without going too terribly spoiler-ific, when the Xenogears flies into space to chase someone.

I gotts say, the whole Mass effect thing is a very good example... And the fact that they resign themselves to their deaths is pretty sad too.

The scene in Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga. Actually, scene(s). That's the only game where I've laughed out loud.

I was on Youtube looking at the other endings of Final Fantasy X-2, and came across the "Sad" version.

Yuna was in the Farplane and Tidus was there ...
