I think enough people said it, so I dunno, but I just wanna give a nod to em, and agree. It's a deep mine for the Gil, they haven't hit the bottom of the mine, and they probably won't for a while. Same as most franchises, the mine is deep, so keep digging

Basically, because it's profitable and sells really well. Nothing more, nothing less. It's become a name brand among gamers. If they made a game with a different title, it won't sell as well as a final fantay XXXIV or whatever.

FFX-2 wasn't such a bad game so long as you absolutely did not try to think of it as a true installment of the FF series and rather as fan service galore for all the appeal that fans had for the female characters in FFX...

Square-Enix will continue to churn out FF games and have storyboards going years in advance before the games even go to model. They already knew what FF9 was going to be about when FF7 launched, it's how Japanese business works. They look WAY further into the long term than other countries do in terms of business (50 years in some industries). FF games make money, they have for over 2 decades now, and probably will for another 2 decades.

I enjoy the remakes and the spin-offs, mostly because I don't expect to be amazed the way I was when I first sat down with FF7 and played through it. It's all about expectations... Don't think that just because it has the FF label that it's going to be groundbreaking. Just expect to be entertained =p

They make new ones because they can. They remake old ones because they can.

Enough said.

They're finding out what the public like most in a game so they can make a new 20 game series
Square makes some long series
