i have a serious question that you all need to answer.
if we put all the fat people into a special camp in your designated country (or fifty diffirent ones in the US) and forced them to lose half their weight would you consider it cruel?

Oh fuck no it's not cruel. They need to lose the weight, it's not healthy. That and its fucking bad to see a fat ass man or woman struggling to get up a flight of stairs. Disgusting. I don't see how you could disrespect yourself enough to let that happen.

It is cruel.
Using force is not necessary, but what can we do? Even faced with the grim realities of their lives ending at 40 in the form of massive heart attacks, they still eat.
Whatever, they need motivation.
We also have no one to blame but the corporations who aim their advertisements for fatty meals to said fatties.

Fuck off, we can blame the people themselves, its nothing to do with the corporations. I don't see how you can blame the corparations as its not like they force them

I don't know, a bit of willpower wouldn't go amiss.

People lack willpower.
If people want something, they'll get it. Society teaches us to live in excess, and this is being seen even in our eating habits.
And yes, I suppose people can be blamed too. Like I said, they lack the motivation to even exercise. This is especially depressing in cases of child obesity, as we have the highest metabolism during childhood.
I don't see how you can hate a fat person so much you'd want them to pack up and head off to some camp, though. Sure you'd have a few less porkers, but you'd also have a hell of a lot of depressed citizens.
Perhaps I'm so warped that I just want people to be happy - fat or not, black or white, whatever.
EDIT: And corporations are to blame too. The main demographic for candy is children, and they display their grasp by advertising their shitty food upon the impressionable.

What business wouldn't aim at its main target buyer?

ou contradicted yourself justin, first you say people lack willpwer and that it's societies fault. Then you blame the corporations. For tryint to make money.
Oh I don't hate fat people, i'd just rather see a country full of skinny people rather than a country full of fat tubs of lard.

The difference here, though, is that these ads are aimed at children. Children don't know any better, they don't have the patience to carefully count calories, carbs, etc.
Hell, the only exercise they get is probably what the manage to do in PE. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I do think that corporations hold more power over the people than the people themselves; many of us aren't willing to show any kind of improvement towards our bodies simply because we're happy eating what they mass produce.
And you do know that they pack their items with things that make them addictive right? For children this can prove to be overpowering, therefore they're compelled to ask their dumbass parents to buy more. My own family is the same way: they replace fruits with twinkies, water with soda, and whatever else is horrible.
The sad thing is, is that these same corporations hold so much power, that they simply overpower the people who propose healthier food plans, therefore eliminating their ability to acknowledge there are other options other than eating a fucking bag of cheetos.
And milly, I thought I had established that both parties are at fault. I acknowledged that he was right as well. But to simply blame people just because you hate how corpulent they are? That, my friend, is a childish and juvenile view of how things work.
Oh, and sure I'd rather see a country full of skinny people, but it's been proven time and time again that even with strenuous national programs that it won't work. Nothing will work unless there is an extreme change pertaining to our diets - and as far as I can tell, you guys seem happy letting the corporations do whatever they damn well please.
Briane created this topic out of pure humor, but if anybody proposed this, they'd probably be laughed into obscurity.
