Default Features

This forum is very different from the old forum, so this thread is to help you navigate through the new features, and help you find the old.


Right Click Menu

Wondering where the menu with all the forum functions are? Can't find the User CP or the Memberlist? Try right clicking , the menu is now all in a script that pops up whenever you right click, so no matter where you are you can easily get to where you want to go.


Help Desk
If you've been searching around for that forum to post your questions / complaints / suggestions, we have a new system of doing things. In the welcome panel on the main page there is a link to "Help Desk". At the help desk you can:
  • Create New Tickets
  • View Old Tickets
By creating a new ticket, you can ask the admin for help in one of a number of categories. The admins will be able to see your plea from the admin cp, and help you with your problem in private (no one else will be able to see). We will also be able to close your ticket if it as already been answered.


Shoutbox

Where did the shoutbox go? Simple, theres a link on the main page in the Welcome Panel, that reads "Open Shoutbox". If you click it, a pop up window will appear, and low and behold... its the shoutbox. The pop up form has a number of advantages:
  • Doesn't Clutter up the Index
  • You can post and still chat at the same time
  • You can open the shoutbox and leave the site if you wish
Warning System

There is a new and better warning system, with some better features:
  • Warnings Expire 30 days after they are given
  • Members can see Why they were warned, by Who, Where, and for What Reason
  • The PM Sent after the Warning gives the Member all the Info they need
Member Photos

Members can now upload their photos without having to visit a thread. In the User CP, there is a new option on the Nav bar called Edit Photo, if you click it, it will let you upload or link to a picture of yourself. If you want to view the gallery for the photos, simply goto the Memberlist and click on Photo Gallery.


Gaming Genres

You will notice that the gaming section has been re-done and is now organized by Genre. We feel this is the best way to organize them for the forums (since we are now a full gaming site instead of just a Final Fantasy site). In each genre there is what we feel is the top 5 games of that genre (since they are very popular, they deserve their own subforums).

Other things such as Gaming Music and such will go into the General Gaming forum, that is forum discussions that do not involve one specific game, or involve elements involved in multiple games.


The Spam Forum

Where did your precious spam forum go? I have conjoined it with the Chat forum, but in the chat forum are many new subforums, where most of the spammish topics will be filtered out. Everything in the chat forum will have no posting value for the members, and the Battle Arena forum is the only other to share this.


The Market

Where did the market go? I have taken out the market, because it is very buggy, and puts a ton of queries onto the forums, that slows the forum down a lot. Also, I felt that glowing and italic usernames got a bit annoying at times, and since so many people had problems because they wanted their names back to the way they were after purchasing, I decided to get rid of it.


Username / Usertitle Changes

I now have a new system of changing your usernames and usertitles. After you have been registered for 30 days, and have at least 100 posts, you will be allowed to change your usertitle in the User CP (Edit Profile).

After you reach 1,000 posts, you will be able to change your Username in your profile as well, but after changing it you cannot change it again for 1 week.

Both options are free, you just need to have enough posts or be registered long enough to be able to use these options.


Usergroups

There have been a change in usergroups. There is no longer a Jesus usergroup (all the members in the Jesus usergroup have been changed to Super Moderators) and there is a new usergroup for site staff. Site staff are considered the following:
  • Content Editors
  • News Reporters
  • Guide Writers
This usergroup will be italic on the users online page, and access to the new hidden "Staff Forum" in the Staff category. They will also have limited access to certain sections of the News and Update scripts for the site.

Attachments

You will notice you now have an attachment manager that lets you post multiple attachments. This features will prevent people from having to double post to post more than one attachment (which they wouldn't be able to do with the no double posting rule, so this was essential).

You can also edit your post and delete all your attachments and upload new ones, but you cannot ADD to your existing attachments.
