Role Playing Battle Tutorial

Role Playing Battles (RPBs) are basically a break off of traditional online role-playing games (ORPGs). It focused on isolated battles which can be worked into the history of your character. It is much less lenient on hardcore facts than ORPGs such as the fact that you can be in more than one battle at once. There is not set world for our system, you can create your own settings or histories that do not have to match others. Now for a basic run down…

1. Create Your Setting: When starting a RPB thread you must first create your setting. Any amount of detail will do, from “On a sand beach.” To “The sand blew across the beach as the wind rolled in from the ocean. Blades of grass on the dune…” you get the idea.

2. Challenge Your Opponent: This is obvious, please try to make a little plot to your challenge. Have a reason for fighting and mold it into your fight.

3. Fight!!!!: This is what the bulk of battling is. You and your opponent take turns attacking each other/blocking/dodging/defending/etc. You cannot control your opponent’s character and cannot decide if a hit you throw connects. That is up to the other character. Here is an example:

Post 1 (Nixk):
He rose up, and stroad bakc from his opponent. Lifting his hand up he started to chant someting that could only be herd inside his head. Than as if the stars were chanting with him, they became visible. And with them the sunset started to burn brighter and brighter, until it was night, and the light coming from the sun was not white, but was a sinister red and indigo. A ball of energy began to form in his hand, and it formed larger and larger by the second. When at last, it sucked back donw to the size of a coin, and sprang forward against hi enemy. It was aimed dead on.....

Post 2 (Kayon):
Kayon’s eyes ripped open in surprise, he was not expecting such a blast like this. Compressed energy was extremely dangerous. He played energy games with his fellow archangels back on Akinan, the power of that rivaled that of any know explosion or blast ever but this was just unexpected. Instantly Kayon let out a terrifying scream ripping his head back. A sphere of energy flowed out from his body and whipped around him extending second by second. The compressed ball of energy struck it and the two forces seemed at even for a split second. A giant explosion rocked the coliseum as the compressed energy expanded. Kayon was sent reeling back, it seemed the ball had instantaneously made it through the sphere and impacted on his chest blasting a hole in his clothes. Before his eyes cleared, Kayon had risen and jumped forwards at Nixk enraged at his mistake of being caught of guard. An attack like that should have been easily avoided. Kayon landed behind Nixk not even looking back at his opponent. He simply let out another amazing yell and all hell broke loose. Beneath his coat, millions of small blades instantly lit up glowing a bright red color. Dark energy flowed out from kayon into the little blades giving them a devastating energy destroying power. The blades ripped off their hangers and blasted out of the coat instantly shredding it to pieces. The blades whipped around Kayon in a frenzy for a split second before whipping out around him in a sphere right next to Nixk. Kayon grinned looking behind him, his hair whipped around in the fury as he spoke.

4. End the Fight: You can end the fight when either you or opponent dies (you should be able to tell when you are out powered or out classed by your opponent. Do not abuse the free form system.) If neither of you will end it by dying or coming to a armistice ask for judge in the judging thread or PM one of us.
