Judging Info
Judging Info
This thread is the for the results of the The Battle Grounds RPBs. If a winner is not declared by victory, then a PM may be sent to a member of the RPH Mod Team and one of us will judge the battle. Here is the criterion that we will judge the battle by:
A ten point system. Each competitor will be awarded 1-10 points based on the following 5 categories. The person with the most points after the end of the judging will be declared the victor of the battle.
Description
-Are the posts descriptive? Do they delve into a very large amount of detail? Are the attacks descriptive, clear, and easy to understand? Some things I will be looking for:
1. Description of battle arena in first post
2. Opening post of the challenged
3. Descriptive reactions to the attacks and talkings of opponents.
4. Does the post describe thoughts and feeling of characters
Realism
-Do the posts of the competitors make sense? Realizing that we live in a world of wondrous magicks and powerful spells, are the post still realistic non-the-less? Some things I will be looking for:
1. Do the competitors constantly dodge attacks that people couldn’t normally dodge?
2. How is the damage taken? Is it rehabilitating to the person attacked?
Style
-Are the posts clear and concise, easy to follow? Do the posts have a distinct style to them? Are they broken up easily, and logically. Some things I will be looking for:
1. Paragraph structure. Are they broken up logically?
2. A distinction between talking and thought. Are quotations used?
Originality
-Do the attackers have original attacks, ideas, concepts on attacks? Is the character original (will not count for much of the score, but needed for 10). Are the defenses of the attacks, and damage dealt, original and logical? Some things I will look for:
1. Attack originality based on character (This does NOT mean that they have to spectacular)
2. If magic is used, how original is it?
Flow
-I call this “flow.” How do the battlers respond to each other to make the battle flow accordingly? Is it broken up, or does it go smoothly from one attack to another? Also, is the battle fun to read and does it make sense? (Pretty self explanatory)
If you battle is finished (or you feel like quitting the battle) and you would like it to be judged, post here with a link to the battle. IB or myself will have a reply post shortly with the results of the battle
Also, battles where deaths have been suffered can be judged as well, but it is your option whether or not you take the judges decision, or your own.
Once the judging is complete a thread will be posted in the Royal Court.
Edit By IBreeder - Just a few things I would like to add. Please do not submit battles that are only a couple of posts each long. It is impossible to judge on a single attack, so the battle will not be judged and it is likely the post will be deleted.
Please only post here if you have a link to a battle you wish to be judged. Anything else will be deleted (you can however mention something else as long as the post contains the link to the bettle you would like judged. If you have any questions PM Drifter or me. Even if this thread has not got any new replies, still check as your post may have been edited containing some important information.
Judging can sometimes take awhile, so please be patient. If your battle has not been judged for a week or more, then PM me or Drifter, but not before as we may be in the process of judging.
All moderators of the RPH team are eligable to judge. Send a PM to anyone of them, and your battle will be judged. Should the time be unaccetable as to how long the judging has been, send a PM to a new mod, and it will be judged accordingly.
