Philosophical question
Are any of you into philosophy see the world through the eyes not fogged by our own feelings and emotions in any way seeing the world as it really is not as we want to see it. Here are 3 basic questions I will post the answers later in a few days after I hear some of your answer. If I get a good response then I will post a few more questions.
One thing that should be stress is that if you let your feelings dictate your answer it will be wrong and if you hear the answers you will be amazed as how simple the questions are to answer. Don't let your feelings get in the way either just put them aside for the time being just for these questions. I am devout christian as well so don't think of me as an atheist.
Are we born good or evil?
What is God? (Hint the answer has nothing to do with religion)
Who is ultimately responsible for our problems? the human race or nature

Neither. People become "good" or "evil" based on their life experiences. If you took 2 identical twin infants and gave them a different set of parents, you'd end up with two completely different personalities from those people.

Well if the answer does not have to do with God, then I'll take my best stab at it (you said put aside personal feelings and since I am a practicing Catholic, I'll try and give an answer aside from that. Basically God is an entity used to explain the unexplainable. The very things that are beyond human comprehension are associated with being related to God. Such questions include "which came first, the chicken or the egg" or "does the universe have a beginning and ending". All other descriptions I can think of relate to religion so I will exclude them

I'd say some of both. Nature is the reason why so much poverty exists because the world's natural resources and food are unequally distrubited and hence, some are born into places with little while others into plentiful areas. On the other hand, the human race is also the cause of the problem because even though there are enough resources to satisfy everyone, a lot is wasted in the plentiful countries (Think of working in a grocery store and how they throw away many of their bakery goods at the end of the day so to have the freshest stuff for the next day). What if all those buns and loafs of bread existed elsewhere where they are needed? Now this is just one example, I'm sure I could come up with many to further the point, but I don't think there's any need.
So yeah, that sums it up for me.

I believe we are born evil - essentially this is our survival mechanism at play. Even while in our mother's womb we are leeching nutrients from her. When we pop out we continue to feed our self desires and needs. Supressing this self absorbed portion of our being makes us "good", so as we mature we are striving to do so and will eventually (most people) help bring a little leech into the world that will metaphorically suck up whatever "good" (values and morals) we have to give. ^_~!
I personally believe God is everything- love, vengence, grace, wrath, beginning, end, and faith. But theoretically, God from a philosophical standpoint is a means of supporting the ideals and values of the masses in the form of religion and God is the highest authority in the institution of religion within society.
I believe to a degree nature shapes human behavior, but that human behavior has managed to supress nature to an extent as well. For example, if Earth was our skin and humans managed to injure it like a skinned knee through deforestation, pollution, etc. then humans are essentially preventing the Earth's white blood cells (nature) to do it's thing so that the healing process can begin. Global warming is just one factor of how human behavior is creating oppositions in nature.

we are born 50% Evil and 50% good, you see people using all their 50% of wickedness and people who are extremely good and gentle. it's up to us to choose what we want to be.
God is a support. a figure that the human being has created to give an answer to all his questions. Infact we don't know who God really is or what really is. and we will never know. If you want to believe to a God you must have faith, otherwise you must devote your life to Science.
All the problems that we have are caused because of us. The human being must accept that life is something crude and merciless. We can't expect all the best from this world. Problems and hard times have to come.
this is my point of view of course

Interesting Questions, though personally I tend to view things from the perspective that we have to use our emotions to see things, as there is no such thing as a "truth". But anyway, onto the questions....
1) I belive we are born pretty much nuetral as far as this goes.We have no life experiences, no concept of what good or evil is. All of that is shaped by society. That much said, we do have some uncontrollable aspects of ourselves that could be seen as evil: things such as Lust for example.
2) Simple really. God is love. Not in the sense of an omnipotent being who created everything. When we truly, deeply love one another, that is "God", that idea of perfection and joy.
3) Both really, but I think humanity bears the most burden. We do really, really stupid things for no reason. We slaughter one another by millions over bits of land (Hmm..nature at play?) We have brains and the technology now to overcome much of the difficulties that plague our world, however we continue to make mistakes and thus we are in, well, the situation we are now.

you'll post "THE ANSWERS"?
Wow - Here's me getting a graduate degree from a religious/philosophical institution, and all I needed to do was wander onto an anime board and read some random guy's blathering.
I've wasted so much of my life.

There is no such thing as good or evil only preference.
What is God? (Hint the answer has nothing to do with religion)
Don't care. He's a tool to make people feel better about themselves.
Who is ultimately responsible for our problems? the human race or nature
Whose to say if anyone is responsible for any problems? whose to say that these are really problems at all?

Also - You might look into something called "Grammar". It's not short for "Grandmother."
:,,;:, - And these fell down from your first post and I caught them. Do you want them back?

erm.....we're born neutral, but the environment defines us, what makes you think that you're good or evil? it's the social beliefs!!
