As most of you know from either my MSN name, others MSN names, or the little message that has been up for that last few hours - we were hacked. We have no clue who the hacker was, nor do we have a way of finding out. I managed to restore as much as I could from the backups, including the forums, and some of the site scripts. Unfortunately as you can all tell... the posts and users are all gone.

Something was messed up before where the post and thread ids were not matching up correctly with the user and forum ids, so when I restored the backups the problem made it so none of the threads where where they were supposed to be or written by who they were supposed to be written by. Unfortunately even the user table would not co-operate, and so I had to get rid of the users as well, meaning everyone has to re-register

Since there were a lot of very important threads, I will be setting up a small forum later this week with the old posts so you can go find your posts and transfer the important data (for bios and such).

I took this problem as an opportunity to get rid of the entire RPG system, as well as the Clan hack. Therefore there is no bank, no itemshop, no battle hack, and no battle clans anymore. I am hoping that I can obtain or be able to work on a Triple Triad in the near future which will replace the battle hack, but in the meantime your going to have to resort back to what forums were meant for - POSTING.

Now there might be some problems still on the forums, if you encounter any just post in the Help Desk and I will try and get it fixed as soon as I can, sorry guys - hackers suck.

Just a quick question Roth is this whole thing permanent will any changes be made to the database etc or will you just be fixing the post counts and thats it. Just so we know to go ahead and start posting again.

Damn that sucks man, i wish you knew who hacked, anyways its good to see the forum up again, thats whats important, and it isnt no ones fault besides the person whos responsible.

Yeah that really sucks. I think it just might have been a member who got IP banned cuz of multiple accounts and flaming and all that stuff. (Hint hint) Hope you find out who did it.

Well, I don't oppose to a fresh start. Of course I'm pissed that some funny guy decided to delete a couple of month's work from about everybody but I'm not worried about starting from scratch. Guess I better start posting.

Oh wow...starting all over again...too bad this placed got hacked...isnt the first time i've seen this happer to a forum...best of luck roth with seeting everythin back up.

I'll save my bitching about losing my Member 8 spot for a more-appropriate time, and settle with 19. :lol: Sorry to hear it all went down, Roth, and I'm sure it was hell fixing it all. Ah, well. FFE is reborn, that's all that matters.

Things could always be worse, at least Roth was able to get the forum back up quickly and as Artemis says, it's a fresh start, should strengthen the FFE community.
