Forum Rules [Extended]

These are the upated and detailed forum rules, categorized and in order on the severity of the offense. It also has the amount of warning points issued for each offense (You have a total of 25 Warning Points until you become banned)

Language

At FF Extreme, Language offenses are the most serious of the offenses, in an attempt to keep the forum as peaceful as possible. If an authority feels a member is using language inappropriately, they hold the right to give that member one of the following warnings, depending on which offense the language used falls under:

Sexual Abuse / Harassment - IP Ban / Possible Charges

It is a sad state of affairs that there are actually members on this board who are harassing some of our female members sexually. This is the highest offense on this board, and not only will I permanently IP ban a member with this offense from this site, but using their IP address I will make it a personal mission that I find their identity and notify police or parents about their disgusting behaviour.... It is against the law.

Racist / Prejudice Flame - 20 Points

When a member comments using a prejudice remark in an offending manor, they will face a 20 point warning. The member will also be required to compose a written apology to the member whom the comment was aimed towards, or that member may face a possible banning from the forums.

Serious Flaming- 15 Points

If a member directly insults another member, expresses hate towards another member, or uses harsh language with the intent to hurt another member, they will face a 15 point serious flame warning. Depending on the severity and extend of the flame, a member may be warned multiple times flaming if there is repeat flames.

Light Flaming - 10 Points

Similar to a flame, when a member uses a tone in effort to hurt another member, except without the use of hateful language.

Disrespect Towards Forum Leaders - 8 Points

When any authority asks a member to retain from an activity that may be causing a disturbance, the member is to immediately refrain from that activity or will be given an 8 warning point disrespect towards authorities warning.


Posting Abuse

Although we like to enforce a nice clean forum where there aren't useless posts lying around everywhere, we also like to stay fairly lax on our rules against posting abuse, therefore the warning points given for each abuse is small, but can add up if the member is not learning his or her lesson.

Spamming - 2 Points

If a post fits into any of the following categories, it is against the rules and classified as Spam posting, and a 2 point spam warning will be given:
- Irrelevant posting in a serious discussion
- Posting only a few words (ex. "lol yep")
- Posting only smilies
- Posting off topic

Note: The spamming rule does not apply for threads in the Chat forum

Post all in Glow - 2 Points

Posting the entire post in glow is abusing the privilege of the glow option, and is a nuisance to read for other members. When a member posts entirely in glow, they will receive a 2 point glow post warning.


Advertising

At FF Extreme we have a designated forum for advertising (the Advertise Your Site subforum in the Chat forum). We do not like it when people come to FF Extreme just to advertise their site, so we have set rules against it, in attempt to make it so FF Extreme doesn't get flooded with advertisements.

Blatant Advertising - 5 Points

When a single advertisement is made in a post outside of the designated forum, or in the shoutbox, a 5 point Blatant Advertising warning will be given to the member.

Private Messaging Abuse - 5 Points

When a member sends advertisements to members through PM, they will receive a 5 point Private Messaging Abuse warning.

Massive Advertising - 20-25 Points

When a member posts multiple advertisements, in posts or in the shoutbox, they will receive a 20-25 point massive advertising warning, depending on the severity.


Others

Hacking - IP Ban / Possible Charges

If any member is caught hacking into the forums admin cp, hacking into other members account, or causing any destruction on the forums through hacking, they will be be IP banned, and we will find their identity and make sure they have charges pressed apon them.

We have delt with numerous hackers before, and the only way to stop it is to use full zero tolerance against them, while implementing the more severe concequences we can muster.

Plagerism - 15 Points

Plagerism of any kind at all (works of writing, art, graphics, designs, trademarks, copyrights, etc) will result in a 15 point warning, and a permanent ban from the Talent show category, so that the member will no longer be able to post or view any of the member's work that is put on display.

Plagerism is also against the law, and even though we will not press charges, it is reminded that if the original creator of the work being plagerised finds their work stolen, they CAN press charges.

Multiple Accounts - 10 Points

When a user creates multiple accounts, they will receive a 10 point warning for multiple account abuse, and will have all their GP taken away. Creating multiple accounts is not allowed because it takes up space on the database, creates a lot of dead user accounts, and could result in a member avoiding bans.

Note: We can tell who uses multiple accounts by IP scans

Spoilers - 10 Points

Members are forbidden to post spoilers for any game that has not had an English release yet. Posting spoilers for these games will result in the member receiving a 10 point spoiler warning.

Scamming - 10 Points

If a member pretends to be a staff member or somehow tricks a member into giving their password to another member, or offences of the like.

Any Sig Rule Breaking - 2 Points

If a member's signature violates any of these rules, they will receive a 2 point sig warning:
- Harsh content
- More than 2 Sig Images
- Width of sig is too large (stretches the postbit)
- Having forum families in sig

Links to Porn / Hentai Sites - 5 Points

Links to porn or hentai sites is against the rules, and anyone who does so will receive a 5 point warning.

Porn / Hentai Pics - 10 Points

Any porn or hentai pics that are posted or attached to the forums is not allowed. The member that posts them will receive a 10 point hentai / porn warning.

Trolling - 15 points

Trolling basically includes, but is not limited to,

1. Going to a particular game forum/thread and purposely saying that a particular game is bad, or bashing the game in any other such way, without giving reasonable explanation for it, therefore ruining posting experience for an/a group of individual(s).

2. Going into another person's club, and purposely bashing that club, or making fun of it, and therefore ruining somebody's forum experience.

3. Participating in somebody's ORPG and making fun of that person, or his way of posting, and therefore ruining that person's forum experience.

Note that "reasonable" and "making fun of" are terms that are decided by the admins - if an administrator feels like you've been making fun of somebody on purpose, and therefore you are ruining somebody's forum experience, you will be warnt. Basically, we decide what is reasonable, and what is making fun of.

Please note that the important bit of the warning is "ruining somebody's forum experience." You can still make fun of a person, but you must make sure that person knows that you were indeed joking. The whole point is: think about how the other person will feel before you post.

This warning operates on complaint basis:

If you, the member, feel as though somebody is ruining your forum experience, please PM an admin, post a link to the thread, we will examine it, and if it does turn out that person was trolling, he will receive the warning for it.

Picture Abusing - 15 points

The member picture system is not to be abused in any way. When a member posts their picture, it is their own private property, and no one has the right to modify or manipulate that picture in any way, shape, or form without his/her permission first.

Failing to follow this rule will result in a 15 point Picture Abuse warning.

Cybering - 10 points

Anyone caught having cyber sex outside of PMs or the Chaosbox will recieve a 10 point warning. For those of you who do not know what cybering is, it is sexual manipulation of another member using words and dialogue.


Notice
Once a warning notice has been given to a user, the warning is final (unless set by mistake) and is not to be debated over.

If an high authority (admin) determines a user is causing problems or a disturbance to community, they reserve the right to terminate that users account and/or ban the user, without the need of prior notification or warning.

The forum rules are a discussion issue for the staff and authorities only, and authorities have the right to remove any arguements by the members on them.
