Back in the early days I said something about trying to make the forums a bit more democratic, and as of yet I've done very little to that effect, we rarely tell the members what's been going on with the staff, we don't really keep you informed about anything and how can things possibly resemble anything near to democracy when you're all kept in the dark? So this thread is just to post little updates and such just to keep you informed if you are interested at all about what's going on with the staff, about who's been banned and possibly about the progress on V5, hopefully this'll make things a bit more open and satisfy those of you that may be curious as to some of the things that do go on, some will just find this a bore.

9th November 2003

• Not much has gone on today, -PoM- has been destaffed by a staff vote due to activity and work issues, we thank him for the time and effort he has put into FFE in the past. Other members of the forum staff are also being voted on for destaffing and considered for demotion.
  
• Planning a full staff evaluation, beginning with some demotions and demoddings, then some Smod promotions perhaps and then we'll go about hiring new mods, looking for a total of 4 SMods and 10 mods, give or take. Once the staff has compiled a suitable list of candidates and debated over them, the next wave of moderators will be decided on a forum wide vote.

As an ex-admin I also wanted to say thanks to Pom, seeing how I can't do it in the staff forums anymore. He's done a lot to the forums, as a starting mod, one of the first Smods, and also during his time of administration (might've not been your best time on this forum, but you've been of help others could not provide during that time).

And yes LL, I pointed this out already in the staff crit thread that you don't have enough mods.

I also suggest kicking Drifter off the staff. I'm sorry, but he's not around anymore to do any Smod work.

Drifter's been busy on trips for his academic studies I believe, I have the utmost confidence that his activity shall pick up soon enough.

11/11/04 - Strife has stepped down from his Smod spot due to a workload in real life, as with PoM, we thank him for his work as an Smod and are glad to still have him on board as a moderator, and I'm very impressed by the maturity he has demonstrated in this.

Now with two Smod spots open we are looking to promote two people from within the staff, the candidates have been decided and a vote on their promotion shall commence very soon.

Drift: Neglect the fact to mention I have been trying to help you out with all this on MSN as much as possible.

LL - I'm so fucking sorry I neglected to mention that on msn you basically said pretty much the same thing as I've been thinking, woah, sorry mate.

Drifter said on msn that Smodding Trav would be good.

I don't have time to mod, so I understand why I got demodded.

There are others more active members that deserve the spot more

The moderator nominations have begun in the staff forum now that we have our new Smods, hopefully we'll get a list of mod candidates out for a forum vote fairly soon.

Well that's cool I wish the best of luck to all canidates and future mods.! Sincerely I think they will do a great job if I gwt nominated I will do the same to! Well like I said good luck to all canidates and furture mods.!
