I tried to send everybody an X-mas card but found you can't do that... is it just me and not thinking straigth or is it just plain impossible???

Are you talking about through the PM system? There is no mass PM feature, you would have to do it one by one.

I think you can. I tried it by adding a bunch of people to my buddy list, and then click on the link that says send pm to buddies, then check all the boxes. and then compose your message.
Or try separating the names with commas.

There isn't a mass PM system for one simple reason. If someone signs up to simply advertise, then they can get the link to their site to every active member in a short space of time.

So there's no way a mass PM system would be added. The disadvantages out weigh the advantages.

The buddy list is the easiest way to go.
