How many people must I refer before I can get a download? Also, can I split this cost between forum posts and referrals? IE 50 Posts and 20 Referrals or something similar.

For every one person who has never visited this site with their IP address that you refer, you get one referral credit which is equal to one mass download. And no, you can not split this between posts and referrals. You either have to post over 100 posts (for every post after the 100th post equals to one mass download), get referral credits or donate.

so wait dragonlady does that mean that once u get get 100 posts u will no longer get referral credits?

I believe you get both. If you look at your User CP, there's a section for "Albums left from referrals" and "Albums left from posts". They both contribute to your total number of album downloads.

You can have a thousand posts and still be able to get referral credits if you so choose. But if say you have 3 referral credits and have enough posts to have 3 mass download credits, when you do start to mass download albums, the referral credits will be used first. At least that's what mine did to me.

The person that asked the question was wondering about splitting the number of posts needed to mass download with referral credits... which you can not do. I told him that you have to do it one of three ways.

Once you've reached 100 posts, every post after that is worth one mass download.

You can post more than once in a thread as long as you don't post one behind the other. Multi-posting is a no no.
