Proper use of pauses

Okay, recently I have seen a lot of people misuse and bastardize pauses beyond belief. This thread is to explain how to correctly use a pause.

1. Don't use them too frequently! One time a sentence is enough!

2. There should only be three periods.

3. All the periods should be seperated by a space.

4. For the love of GOD do not put a comma or any other punctuation before a pause!

5. AGAIN dont misuse it.

I agree. We're speaking English. We need to use pauses in the proper place at the proper time. Although, I was taught that you didn't need an extra space between the periods. Bah. I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment.

i agree, why the spaces, it looks better like this... instead of . . ., that takes up a lot of space

Has nothing to do with space. I was just never taught that way. But then again it's always possible that my teachers were wrong. :duh: I'll look it up eventually.
Oh and for all you space concious people...

. . . <-- isn't really alot of space O.o . But I was also taught to put the spaces inbetween so i guess ill just keep doing it then O.o

The space makes the sentence/ paragraph look less cluttered. I've seen the spaces used in many novels including Stephen King's*.

so will u still get mad at us if we use no spaces (that is habit) or do some of us have to try really hard to use spaces for you not to be upset... (. . .)

he's a crackhead and all of his stories are repetative. he uses the same plot concept with a different setting.

and i really dont go online to worry about grammar...the internet is my escape from reality in a way...i really dont want to worry about using correct grammar...thats why we use abbraviations for words

Proper Grammar Skills for New Ideas:

If it is needed that an evert taking place/startling occurance happen be used without the use of a period(.) or comma(,) and a new idea is needed to follow, the person should use three periods with a space in between (. . .) O.o . They taught me that in school, what a waste of time.
